I've bought a Brazilian split window bus. It's been lowered and is riding on 14 inch 4 stud wheels. My understanding is that the buses ran 5 stud wheels. Any ideas what the set up is that's allowed a 4 stud wheel to be used. It's discs front drums on the back.

Yes, split buses came new with wide five bolt pattern, so yours has some mods.
post pics of your suspension, what the wheels were bolted to. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

I see a king/link spindle, but not what the front wheels bolts to.
Does it have 4 lug wheels in back as well? Could be a beetle tranny in back.
From the angle of the trailing arms, could be a turned beam. But that doesn't mean how the wheels bolt on. _________________ The Obsolete Air-Cooled Documentation Project http://oacdp.org/ |

Hi, I'll try and get the wheels off tomorrow and some pics of the set up. It's 14 inch 4 stud wheels all round, adjustable spring plates and drums on the back. It's too low for the roads here, speed bumps everywhere. _________________ 71 Karman Ghia
