First, let me say that I do not race and have no desire to race (Not sanctioned anyway!) so the issue of race organizations approval certifications and anything related to that is unimportant to me.
I run around with my Rat Rod Trail Rail on old mining trails and things like that. Most of them are overgrown with all kinds of Southern Arizona desert brush. I installed safety nets. They were new but expired "debris safety nets" for sanctioned car races. They worked ok but I had to "adjust" them (with big scissors) to fit properly plus the holes in the netting are to big. That's the real problem. The holes are big enough to allow sticks to poke thru. Getting slapped in the face with a Creosote bush is bad enough but getting stabbed in the eyeball is worse.
It seems all car safety, volley ball, cargo, restraint, etc. netting has holes that are to big...except for Trampoline enclosure safety netting. It has little holes I guess to keep fingers, noses and ears for getting caught. I have the capability to make the right size and shape netting from it but have a couple of questions.
I ordered a section of it for experimental purposes. It seems pretty tough to punctures and tears. Has anybody ever tried using it for safety netting on an off road play car? Does anybody have any experience with it as far as it's intended purpose on a trampoline? Thanks |

Any netting is going to have holes and sticks or brush that wants to find you will find the holes no matter how small.... Suggest helmet with face shield to protect face, as for the rest of your body, it will eventually heal.... _________________ âFear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns"

about the only thing that will work and you can still see though would be Hardware Cloth, 1/2 inch 24in x 100 ft roll |

I concur with Dale M.
I would not trust trampoline netting to repel even small sticks at any sort of appreciable speed. |
