Well I got the pan cut again and welded in the two pieces I had taken out, the wheel base is now 92.5 from 80 .
I plated the bottom because of the large gap at the left of the PCC logo.
Its nice to have something that can handle the heavy work |

Well I got it back on the rack and squared up and new side peace's in, installed seat mounts and fuel tank mounts. cleaned up rebuilt all the brakes F+R all new hard and soft lines, set in and new Master moved the spring pack to the top tube so the weight is pushing on the ball joints instead of pulling.. I had gotten a Flee Bay 8 gallon fuel tank but soon found out that its to big without cutting the rear firewall and moving it into the passenger compartment. so ended up getting two 2.5 gallon to keep under the body and over the torsion bars . still mocking everything up now working on the steering I will have to offset and lower the steering column to the left. FUN FUN FUN.

DAM, DAM, DAM. Enough to race off a Piss horse.
I tried to start the motor yesterday and I had forgotten to hook up the CV shafts, no big deal, motor started and quit. passenger side CV spun and pulled the power wire loose. That is when I found the big problem.
When I made the center mount for the trans I lined up and centered the trans. and made the two downriggers for the rear motor mounts. I though I did a good job,
BUT,
I forget I am dealing with an Automatic Trans, not the 4 speed.
The 4 speed has equal length Axle shafts, not so with the Automatic. Now I have to cut it all out and move everything about 1/2 to 3/4 " to the right as you can see CV's will not work as is.
drivers side
Passengers side

Type 3 automatics have a long and short axle. Are yours just reversed? _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3â narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

I don't think so but I will check thanks,.,,
went out to BBQ some chicken. I used the time to recheck the axles, I had them on the right sides so will have to move the middle Mount. |

All I can say is I was blessed, By the VW Engineer's.
I went out and started looking at what I was going to have do to fix the offset of the trans.
Disconnected all the mounts except the front trans, cut a piece off a gas tank mount, for the starter. and noticed that by turning the right mount backward it fit so moved the drivers side and long and behold IT"S Fixed.
