A bit late, but I’ll do a couple of posts from the show at Glamis. A huge show by Scottish standards and generally well organised. A great range of vehicles on display, I’ll post a few pictures to give you an idea. My favourites are the Bond bugs and the musical barrel organ:

Naturally, we want the Ghia to look her best, so a little polish, shelter from the inevitable rain overnight, and a few glamour shots on the show field. The laminated cards are great, lots of people stop to read them and I overheard a lot of comments on the classic tool roll and the ‘period’ ‘70s cassette player (which was mine at school and I’ve adapted to play from the 12v socket in the car)

Lastly, you can see we were comfortable in our camping setup and the Ghia got to have a little drive around the show ring.
When we got home, I decided it was time for an oil change, so I’ve put the picture there to remind me that I’ve done it at 10874 miles and which oil I’ve used.

The whitewall tyres on the Ghia are a pain to keep clean and over 13 years they have got quite stained and not looking their best (despite various products!)

I had intended to order Bleche Wite but reviews seem to suggest that the formulation has changed and wasn’t as good (and it’s hard to get hold of in the UK). So, I ordered some Raceglaze whitewall tyre cleaner: spray on, scrub with a brush and rinse off. Seriously impressed with it!

The pics show before and after of one front tyre, a front and rear together (the rear not yet cleaned) and two clean wheels on the other side. Very happy.

Yes I used the Raceglaze cleaner on my wide whites over the 17 years I had my Firestones and it worked well. I've just ordered another bottle for my new Konito Whitepaw Radials. Not sure of availability outside the UK.
