Wellâ¦. I guess I should not be surprised how challenging it would be to get some many contract points to play nice.

When I got one point where I wanted it another would walk away. The most important and noticeable area is where the decklid meets the quarter panel.

After going back and forth I decided to get that area as good as I can then work the of contact point into position. I think Iâm getting it.

I was pleased to see the back of the car fixture was the same degree as the fabrication table so at least I know that is correct.

Im confident that I will begin welding it on tomorrow Laughing

Making milestones.

Got the body off the layout table and loaded in the rotisserie.

Before I made the move I put the other door on and locked it down with tabs. I also did a bunch of the lower metal panels so the body would be rigid enough to justify removing it from the table.

The quarter panel was the big one so everything else is fairly straight forward from here.

Iâm just about finished with this rear corner area and Iâm looking forward to moving onto the headlight sections. There was a lot to replace here but I was happy that the repop parts played nice , they did not give me much grief.

I have chosen to do a MiG Stitch Weld process. I discovered that when I Tig panels they need way too much hammer and dolly work afterwards. The typical process for Tig is just too hot for these cars in my opinion. If you try to Stitch Weld with a Tig machine to reduce the heat introduced into the panel it is slow and tricky to boot. Often when folks Tig they run a bead and warp the heck out of the panel just to go back and beat it back into submission. Tig is fun and very popular to watch these days and see posted online but at the end of the day it think it takes more time and energy, Many would probably disagree with my opinion but I have found it to be true for myself.
